ASSESSMENT STRATEGIES
- ASSESSMENTS CAN BE FORMATIVE (0N-GOING) OR SUMMATIVE (AT THE END). FORMATIVE COULD BE MONITORING OBJECTIVES, SUMMATIVE WOULD BE THE GOAL.
- STUDENT/CHILD SHOULD BE ASSESSED IN THEIR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT WHEN AT ALL POSSIBLE.
- TAKE EXTRA TIME TO GET TO KNOW THE STUDENT SO THEY ARE COMFORTABLE COMPLETING THE TASK YOU HAVE REQUESTED OF THEM.
- IF ASSESSING FOR QUALIFICATION, DISMISSAL, OR TRIENNIAL ALWAYS USE 2 STANDARDIZED TESTS IN ADDITION TO REVIEW OF RECORDS, TEACHER COLLABORATION, REVIEW OF RECORDS AND INFORMAL OBSERVATION.
- WHEN RECOMMENDING SERVICES YOU SHOULD WRITE "IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE TEAM CONSIDER/NOT CONSIDER, ADAPTED PHYSICAL EDUCATION SERVICES AT A RATE OF....., ?/? TIMES PER WEEK/MONTH/YEAR AS ADMINISTERED BY THE ADAPTE PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER".
